Being dubbed " Olde Tyme Mountain Punx", The Prodigal String Band draw their

influences equally from the South Eastern Appalachian 20's and New York's Punk Rock 80's.

Fueled by whiskey and caffeine, their high energy stage show leaves dance floors

covered in as much beer as sweat.  The main goal of every tune is to get folks dancin'.

Jeff Kazor of The Crooked Jades describe them as"...dark, the way old time should be played."

Feeling just as at home playing a pig roast or a wedding, a festival or a biker bar, a street corner

or a punk club, they have shared the stage with such acts as Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band,

The .357 String Band, Pariah Beat, What Cheer Brigade, and Special Ed and the Shortbus.

Their unique sound is somehow so familiar, everyone from those just learning to

walk, to folks who can actually remember barn dances from the 40's can't help but

DANCE THEIR ASSES OFF.
